Clue/Question: The St. Patrick’s Day festivities were ready to begin, but they hoped it wouldn’t – – –
Pre-Answer: Four Words (4-letters) (2-letters) (5-letters) (6-letters)

Answer: RAIN ON THEIR PARADE
(Hold on to your tams, me boyos . . . and lassies! Just a wee bit of misdirection with today’s stinky pun. They wanted us to concentrate more on the wind aspect, with the cartoon and its dialog. But, the wind is merely the precursor to the coming thunderstorm. Rain would definitely put a damper on things, but you could still proceed. High winds could ground the balloons though!
All of today’s clue words were all familiar old muckers. It seems like ages since we’ve seen “quiver”. Surprisingly though, all of the jumbles appear to be new. The only one to give me any pause was “daalir”. The others I saw immediately. The answer letter layout was a grand seventeen letter jumble. It did a fine job keeping the answer under wraps.
Fun cartoon of the Chicago Paddy’s Day parade preparations. The storm clouds are building, and the wind is whipping. But, the lassies should be able to get their stepdancing in, and the leprechauns should be able to do their jigs. Everyone is Irish today, so wear a little green, and hopefully we’ll all be in for a little airgead! Be well and do good, friends. Sláinte!) — YUR
