“Science gives man knowledge, which is power; religion gives man wisdom, which is control.” — Martin Luther King Jr.
(I was a little annoyed with myself with today’s Cryptoquote. I always write down the punctuation before I try to identify the “E”. And, I try to NOT focus on the author. But, I saw the author right away, and once you see it you can’t un-see it. So, I had my *key*. I quickly saw that the “O” was the “E”, but it felt like cheating. Doctor King was a minister, and the son of a minister, so that explains his view, which I – for one – do not agree with. A great man, but to each their own. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Like you, UR, I could not avoid spotting the author’s name right away; from then on, it was just connecting the dots. I think Dr. King said more than he knew, when he equated religion with control.
There you go, roy! Great minds think alike. I’m glad you said it first though. LOL! — YUR
same here. that darn JR at the end of his name and you can’t un-see that it’s him.
Yeah, with a name that recognizable they should play around with some alternative shortcuts. Like: M. L. KING JR., or MARTIN L. KING JR., or just MLK JR. Certain names just kind of stand out, like RALPH WALDO EMERSON and HENRY DAVID THOREAU. But, yeah. The JR is probably the biggest giveaway. The quote itself would have much tougher to solve if the author’s name wasn’t so recognizable. There were relatively few “E”s in the puzzle, and only two words ended in “E”. Without such an obvious author it would have been much more challenging. — YUR
