Clue/Question: When they played cards in view of the Golden Gate, they were – – –
Answers: BRIDGE PARTNERS
(A good literal/figurative stinky pun! Maybe the ladies are playing in The Presidio, which used to be an Army fort, and is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. “The Presidio” is also the name of a movie, starring Sean Connery, a pre-NCIS Mark Harmon and Meg Ryan, from way back in 1988. It was a murder mystery that involved the – then – Army fort. I don’t remember much about it, except that it was pretty good.
We’ll let ralis95 tend to his peonies, as there are no new clue words to report today. Three of the jumbles appear to be new, with “ranwid” having definitely been used before. The answer letter layout was a very impressive 14-letter jumble, that I thought was far from obvious. I actually had to search to find the word BRIDGE, THE most obvious of the answer words, and then it took me a minute to unscramble ETSPRANR! PARENTS was too short, and didn’t make enough sense. And, then I remembered Bridge is a partners card game. I’ve never played Bridge, but I used to play Euchre as a teen, which is another partners card game. I think they used to call it the old farmers card game. The last time I played it was down in Georgia, when I was visiting a one-time girlfriend and her parents. Her dad and I beat her and her mom! Then she broke up with me. Well, we weren’t formally back together at the time, but . . . eh, it’s a long story . . . and an old one.
Fun cartoon of the very scenic Golden Gate Bridge. The ladies appear to be having a grand time, while other people jog and walk around the park. There’s a tiny sailboat on the water, but it’s not sinking. Good stuff! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
