Jumble Spoiler – 02/14/19

Visual Description:  Washington Square Arch meetups.

POMHO  =  OOMPH,  LEYID  =  YIELD,  YALVEL  =  VALLEY,  EEWIDV  =  VIEWED   —   Giving us:  OOYEVLYVED

Clue/Question:  The pigeons had been married for years but were still – – –

Answer:  LOVEYDOVEY

(Supposedly, pigeons mate for life.  But, it’s kinda up to the hen to resist the advances of the more dominant cocks.  Because the cockier cocks always want a little more.  Ain’t that always the way?!  But, by and large, they do mate for life.  I basically know squat about pigeons, but this is what I read.

We have a brand new clue word today, in “viewed”.  Our old pal, ralis95, will have to update his world famous clue word database once again!  Its jumble “eewidv” gave me the most trouble.  I didn’t try all that hard to solve it, and backed into it.  The cartoon caught my eye.  The jumble “pomho” is new but we’ve seen both “leyid” and “yalvel” before.  The answer letter layout was a fine 10-letter jumble, but being Valentine’s Day the answer did kind of jump off the page.

Great cartoon of lovers under, and atop, the Washington Square Arch, in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City.  It’s one of the more iconic locations in NYC.  A great place for a rendezvous.  I hope that everyone has a Happy Valentine’s Day.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I’ve had squab a lot when I was younger. When I got to college, one of the guys in the dorm went duck hunting one weekend. Got a couple. He ended up cutting the meaty breast parts off and was going to get rid of the carcass, but I talked him into prepping them as well. I ate the carcass parts and it had the same texture and flavor of the squabs I remember. As far as today’s puzzle, I found it to be fairly easy. I got Viewed sorta quick, but did wonder if it was a valid Jumble word.

Me too, Damid. Past tense is kinda like plurals. — YUR
