Jumble Spoiler – 02/08/19

Clue/Question:  After inflatable tires were introduced, it didn’t take long for them to – – –

Answer:  GAIN TRACTION

(From looking at today’s stats, so far, I’m guessing I’m alone in thinking that today’s final answer was a toughie!  I got a little hung up on the second word.  There were the right letters for ROTATING, but that left me with CANI.  Then I thought the second word might be ROTATION, but I was short an O.  But still, I brought down the G, by changing the C to a G, and from GANI I saw GAIN.  Finally, from INTCATOR I got TRACTION.  Whew!

I do believe we have a new clue word today, in “hoagie”.  It’s similar to goalie, in that it’s a six letter word with the same four vowels.  Jumbles like this always throw me.  Anyway, ralis95 can add “hoagie” to his world famous clue word database.  We’ve seen the jumble “pitne” before, but the other three are new.  The answer letter layout was diabolical, in my estimation.  It kept me spinning my tires, for a few minutes.
