“Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” — Albert Schweitzer
(Big Al . . . strikes again! I’m pretty sure we had another of his quotes just within the last month. I’m always open to a good gratitude quote though. I think “gratitude” is one of those things you have to smack people on the head with, every now and then. It seems, more often, that people like to whine about all their troubles! And, if they’re not complaining, they’re taking all their graces for granted. Appreciate what you got, folks. Things can always be worse. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. I wonder if Sam Elliot could pull off a German accent? 😉 — YUR

Right on, Uncle. I may have already
lost a few good years by just
complaining too much. Now let me
tell you in detail how hard my day’s been so far.. Cheers
Nobel Prize winner, J.S. Bach scholar, physician, overall remarkable person. Thank you, Cryp, for promoting this incredible humanitarian!
This post is inspiring. Albert Schweitzer is a fascinating figure.I’m told he had an organ (pipes and all) in his residence in Africa.
He truly is, Micheline. Thanks for the fun-fact! — YUR
