Cryptoquote Spoiler – 12/26/18

(Wow!  Today’s was a tough solve for me.  Even knowing that the Q had to be either the A or the I, it still was tough.  Surprisingly, the first word I figured out was “quiet”.  Not a lot of good bio on the author.  She was born Sarah Crean, and then married Ed Sharp and published under the name Mrs. Sharp.  Not sure how, when, or why, she picked up Ban Breathnach.  She’s best known for her “Simple Abundance” books.  Very popular with Oprah.  This is part of a New Year’s Day quote.  Today, we welcome her to the Cryptoquote Club!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —  YUR

Jumble Spoiler – 12/26/18

(Oh, well.  I guess we have to put the spirit of Christmas in the rear view mirror, and get back to the unfortunate reality of . . . the world.  Sigh!  It was fun while it lasted.  Hope everyone had a pleasant holiday.

No new clue words today.  However, all of the jumbles appear to be new.  I did not struggle with any of them.  The answer letter layout was a splendid jumble too.  It was sufficiently cryptic.  The hyphen and the quotation marks were the big clues, along with the cartoon and its dialog.

The cartoon does a fine job of showing a corporate boardroom.  They all voted to gouge their customers, despite lower costs.  These guys should invite Martin Shkreli to their little cabal.  I know he’d vote with them!  Be better than these cretins, folks.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
