“If baking is any labor at all, it’s a labor of love. A love that gets passed from generation to generation.” — Regina Brett
(She’s an author and a columnist, and an inspirational speaker. She’s unfamiliar to me, but I’m not very well read. Or inspired, for that matter. It looks like Rebecca has used at least one of her quotes before. I used to love to bake as a teenager. That was a while ago. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. I heard that Penny Marshall died Monday, at the age of 75. Complications from Diabetes! Very funny actress. Most of us know her as Laverne, from “Laverne and Shirley”, but I also remember her as Oscar Madison’s secretary, Myrna, on “The Odd Couple”, directed by her brother, Garry. I just found out she had been up for the part of Gloria Bunker Stivic, but ultimately lost out to Sally Struthers. A little ironic, as her husband at the time, Rob Reiner, landed the role of Michael “Meathead” Stivic, on “All In The Family”. She was also a very accomplished director and producer of a number of well known movies. She will be missed. Rest in peace, Penny. — YUR
