Clue/Question: Using their high beams at night on the unfamiliar road was a – – –

Answer: BRIGHT IDEA
(It sure beats looking down at your GPS screen! People today rely far too much on those damn things. They make you too dependent on them, instead of in your driving/navigating abilities. And, a lot of times they take you to a non-through street, or have you turn where shouldn’t be turning. We all use them from time to time, but if I have the time, I still much prefer looking, up and writing down, the directions by hand. Following written directions engages more of your brain.
Everyone can rest easy today, as there are no new clue words! Yesterday we had “potted”, and the day before we had “hurrah”. All of the jumbles did come up as new though. I found them all to be easy solves. The answer letter layout was the best jumble of the day. Nothing obvious about it at all.
Beyond seeing the turn, the cartoon shows you a bigger reason for using your brights. A deer by the side of the road. They are beautiful animals, but not terribly bright. They can walk/run/jump out in front of your car/truck before you know it. They can cause thousands of dollars in damage to your car, and/or you could possibly be injured, or even killed! And, who wants to hurt or kill Bambi??? Using your brights – judiciously, of course – helps you expand your field of vision, and gives you some time to react. Be safe out there, folks.
