Clue/Question: The Thanksgiving cooks’ conversation became serious when they – – –

Answer: TALKED TURKEY
(A great literal/figurative pun! And, there is nothing stinky about the aromas coming out of a Thanksgiving kitchen! Unless someone is steaming some broccoli, cabbage, or Brussels sprouts! P-yew! Those are all high in sulfur. They’re all good for you, but they stink while they’re cooking. Thankfully, they are not on our Thanksgiving menu!
Hoyt has given us another new clue word, to celebrate the holiday! Our good friend, ralis95, can add the word “butte” to his world famous clue word database! And of course, “butte” is the French word for butt. Nah, not really. It’s a type of hill, or mountain, with steep sides and usually a flat top. Like a mesa. Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, with “frievy” having been used before. So, naturally it was the toughest one for me to un-jumble! The answer letter layout was a nice 12-letter jumble, but I was able to see the answer immediately.
Great cartoon of friends and family, coming together to celebrate the joyous occasion. Gotta love the dog! That looks like a 20 lb. bird! Since it’s just the 4 of us this year I picked up an 8 lb. turkey, only to realize late last night that it’s not a whole bird! It’s a breast, with some back meat, and whatever. But, in my defense, it was packaged to look just like a whole – small – bird. Oh, well. In my house the turkey is kind of secondary to the stuffing and other sides anyway. So, I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving! I’m so thankful for all of my Jumble and Cryptoquote friends. We are part of an exclusive puzzle family, and I love you all. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
