Clue/Question: One of the drawbacks of a polar bear’s diet
Answer: BRAIN FREEZE
(You just gotta take your time when you eat something that cold! When you eat something that cold, that fast, you’re gonna suffer. Thanks to Chad Carpenter, of “Tundra”, for being today’s guest Jumble cartoonist. Yet another comic that my newspaper does not carry, but I have come across it in other newspapers.
We seem to have a very rare treat today, in that there appears to be two new clue words! I hope ralis95 has had his Wheaties today, because he’s going to have to add both “nerdy” and “defier” to his world famous clue word database. I hesitated a bit to write down “nerdy”, because it doesn’t sound completely legit. But, it is. I had to semi-back into “defier”, a word, by the way, that WordPress does not acknowledge as legit. Friggin’ Limeys! I didn’t get the final answer before, but looking at the answer letters that I did have made me realize that I at least needed an F. That was enough for me to go with “defier”. I can’t remember when we last had, or if we ever had, two new clue words on a single, four clue word Jumble. Splendid answer letter layout. A nicely cryptic 11-letter jumble. Oh, yeah! All of today’s jumbles came up as new too.
Cute cartoon. A little graphically violent perhaps, but not overly so. Not really all that flattering to polar bears though. But, yes, I understand that it’s just a cartoon. Great guest week! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

NERDY gave me no trouble, but DEFIER sure did. A new word for my challenging Jumble word list for sure. I had to (completely–and how does one partly…) back into DEFIER and struggled even with the help of knowing three letters in, three letters out.
With that I wave the white flag and declare a cease-fire on a challenging week of puzzles with sorry performances on my part.
But thanks to all the guest Jumblers… great job!
I didn’t like Defier either. This whole week was tough for me. I could get the clue words, but the answers mostly escaped me. Today’s I got, but not so much the rest of the week.
Defier was my Waterloo as well. I had written it down, trying my hardest to even just back in to it…noodled around with letter combinations, and tossed out defier twice as not a real word. Au contraire, apparently! The solution made me laugh…even tho it was a bit yipe-ish.
