Clue/Question: After Tia Carmen forgot to stuff her baked treats, Baldo called them – – –
Answer: EMPA-“NADAS“
(What’s wrong? Nada . . . nada damn thing! That’s one of my oldest gags. I think this is our first semi-foreign Jumbles. But of course, empanadas, and many other Hispanic dishes, have been incorporated into American cuisine. The U.S. of A. is still the great melting pot, for all who – wisely – choose to assimilate with our culture/society.
All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends. But, it looks like all of the jumbles are new. The answer letter layout was a fine jumble. It didn’t give anything away. The quotation marks were a big help to solving the final answer.
Today’s guest artists, Hector Cantu and Carlos Castellanos, of “Baldo”, gave us a nice domestic kitchen scene. My newspaper does not carry “Baldo”, but I have seen it in others. It’s been a great week of guest artists, so far. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
