Clue/Question: When young Rube Goldberg wanted to catch a mouse, he built a – – –

Answer: CON-“TRAP“-TION
(Beautiful pun! Best one of the week, so far. As you all can read, today’s guest artist was Ed Steckley, who is a Mad Magazine and Rube Goldberg illustrator. It’s been a while since I picked up a Mad Magazine, but I always loved it as a kid. And, I was a big fan of the game Mouse Trap. I love the thought processes that go into these kinetic pieces. It’s one of the reasons that I like the opening of the TV show “Elementary”!
We actually have a new clue word today, in “lotto”. I hesitated to write it in, as – for me – it’s simply the name of many state lotteries. But apparently, it is an actual word. So, our old buddy, ralis95, will have to add this to his world famous clue word database! Also, all of the jumbles came up as new. The answer letter layout was a nice 11-letter jumble. It gave away nothing. Today, the quotation marks were the major key for my solving this Jumble. They helped me to see the word TRAP, and after that the whole pun came together for me.
Hilarious cartoon . . . as implausible as it might be! Still, a lot of fun. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
