Answer:  HUNG IN THE BALANCE

(Wonderful pun!  A nice play on a phrase, and a good visual pun.  Hang in there, buddy!  Get that timing down.  And, no sweaty palms!

All of the clue words have been used at least once before.  Five out of the six jumbles appear to be new, with only “gleycr” having definitely been used some time ago.  The jumble for “trophy” probably gave me the most trouble.  The answer letter layout was an impressive 16-letter jumble.  I thought it did an admirable job of disguising the final solution.

Great circus cartoon.  And, “politically correct” too!  No animals, just human performers.  I miss the animals!  The ring master and tightrope walker look very grumpy.  Not exactly supportive.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
