TRAEGH = GATHER, FRADOF = AFFORD, SSUMIE – MISUSE, MSSETY = SYSTEM, CRUPES = SPRUCE, SPOGIS = GOSSIP — Giving us: GATRDISESSTSUGOI
Clue/Question: Humpty Dumpty’s departure from the wall was a – – –
Pre-Answer: Two Words (10-letters) “(3-letters)-(3-letters)”

Answer: DISASTROUS “EGG–SIT“
(This was not an automatic answer for me! I was thinking DISTURBING, DISTRESSING, DISGUSTING something with EGG. But, without an N, and/or a B, none of those worked out. Despite the well-known nursery rhyme, I was not looking for a version of SAT. I gave it to my daughter and her boyfriend, but they were too busy with work to even look at it. So, I took it into the “reading room” with me, for a second look, and the “EGG-SIT” pun finally came to me. After that DISASTROUS fell into place.
None of the clue words were new, and only half of the jumbles were new. We’ve seen “mssety”, “crupes” and “spogis” sometime before. The answer letter layout was the top jumble of the day, for me. It held the big answer very close to the vest. Definitely nothing obvious about it.
Humpty definitely looks like a goner though! There is just no repairing a broken egg. What the heck is the metaphor behind Humpty Dumpty anyway? Was he raw, or hard boiled? Usually, these fairy tales are designed to keep kids from doing one thing, or another. Is it some kind of chastity warning? Other than that, I’m pretty much in the dark. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
