Pre-Answer: Three Words (5-letters) (3-letters) “(7-letters)”

Answer: FRONT AND “SCENTER“
(Beautiful pun! Stinky in so many ways! With the advent of modern, good hygiene it’s hard to understand why – otherwise rational – people would want to immerse themselves in perfumes and colognes. I think part of it is tradition/conditioning, and the other is effective marketing. They tell us these scents are so alluring, and they will make us more desirable. And, we buy into it, hook, line . . . and stinker! Too many of them are either over flowery, or they smell like bug spray, to me. And, some people don’t seem to understand what constitutes enough, and what is too friggin’ much. Soap, powder, and deodorant – daily – is all anybody really needs. And, I know some people who don’t even need deodorant. I go for the trifecta though. People who spray others, without permission, should be charged with assault with a toxic substance.
All of Sunday’s clue words are old favorites, but all of their jumbles appear to be new. Hey there, ralis95! Just an FYI. The word “runoff” comes up under the F’s, as the Alpha Equivalent of the Word “ffnoru”. A mild snafu. The answer letter layout was a nice 15-letter jumble. Nothing about it was obvious.
Nice department store cartoon. Pretty soon we’ll have to explain to the kids what these were. Amazon.com, and other online shopping venues, are killing the department stores. Interesting times we live in. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
