Clue/Question: The new oil rig could be seen from their front porch swing, and this wasn’t – – –
Answer: SITTING WELL
(What an eyesore! And, I can’t imagine that there’s not some kind of constant noise associated with the pumping. If it’s distant and rhythmic I suppose it could be relaxing though. I’d imagine that there is some kind of oily smell being generated too, but at least that is not as bad as the refineries’ sulfuric smell. But, at this point we should be just leaving the stuff in the ground. Look at what extracting it, refining it, and burning it has done to the environment in a little over 150 years. We can all point to the positives of progress, but we need to also acknowledge the shortcomings.
All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends. However, all of the jumbles are coming up as new. None of them tripped me up today. The answer letter layout was a well thought out jumble. It hid the answer nicely.
Fun cartoon of some retired codgers swinging on their front porch. I’m thinking that the little duck is kinda like a garden gnome, and not an actual duck. But, I’ve been wrong before. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
