Jumble Spoiler – 10/10/18

Clue/Question:  When asked if the sandpaper was rough enough, he said – – –

Answer:  OF “COARSE“ IT IS

(Good little pun, that should have been more obvious to me.  For some reason, I initially thought that word one was IT, and three and four were IS and SO.  Even though that left me with EFOCAR, which can’t be made into anything, it helped me to realize that the first word should be OF.  Then the pun sunk in.

No new clue words.  Although, our good friend, ralis95, did send me the latest version of his world famous clue word database, yesterday.  I’m having some minor issues using it, but I’ll eventually get the hang of it.  Three of the jumbles are new, with “civeo” having been used before.  I was able to see all the clue words directly.  The answer letter layout was a lovely jumble.  It did a fine job of disguising what should’ve been a very obvious answer, from me at least.

Admirable cartoon of a woodworking shop.  It looks like they specialize in doors.  The sign in the window reads:  Knock On Wood.  The cartoon used the words “rough” and “fine”, but they avoided “medium”.  Fun pun.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
