Clue/Question: Construction of the railroad would fall behind schedule if they didn’t get – – –
Answer: BACK ON TRACK
(Great Jumble, good pun. None of the clue words were new. But, three of the jumbles came up as new, with only “ozako” having definitely been used before. I was able to see all the clue words right away. The answer letter layout was a nice 11-letter jumble, that I don’t think gave anything away.
The cartoon looks to be late 19th Century. The heyday of the locomotives! Without the trains, I think it would have taken much longer for the – mainly white – “settlers” to settle the West. They resulted in a lot of dead bison, and a lot of dead Native Americans. But, certain people made a lot of money, and now we are where we are. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

This was one of the turning points of building this great nation, and we can hardly imagine how brutal it was. The almost inevitable bloodshed, the incredible labor applied, and the opportunistic wealthy that it generated to a few lucky ones. In other news, I’ve passed along your very interesting post about Graceland to my brother, who’s been there a couple of times (ATK, aka, After the King lol) He hates the whole concept, of course, but I tell him it’s kind of almost inevitable as well. It’s America, so someone is bound to profit from it, and it may as well be his relatives, Priscilla & Co.
Thanks, Wes! I appreciate it. — YUR
I visited there a couple years ago. Quite interesting. And next year is 150 years since the Golden Spike, so there are plans for stuff to commemorate.
I would like to see that, Damid! Maybe, I’ll make it out that way to see it. — YUR
