Answer:  TOP OF THEIR LUNGS

(Today’s Jumble solve is courtesy of my beautiful daughter!  I was busy with 9/3’s, 9/4’s, and 9/15’s puzzles, so I let her handle today’s.  I did help her on “rotate” and “toupee”.  For some reason, I couldn’t find “toupee” on the ralis95 clue word database.  But, I’m almost certain we’ve had it before.  What do you guys think???

All of the jumbles came up as new.  The answer letter layout gave nothing away.  It was a fine jumble.  I think the leading nature of the clue/question, and the depiction of the climbers, made getting the answer relatively easy.  My daughter got the answer despite having trouble with “rotate” and “toupee”.

Great cartoon!  Reminds me of where I just came back from.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

UR, I’ve had trouble with ‘rotate’ before, and had added it to the toughie word list….so after a few moments, it wasn’t as much of a problem this time around…’toupee’ was a different matter….super difficult for me (I feel like I’m in good company with your daughter!)…toying around with the letters, I discarded ‘p-e-e’ as an option, simply because I only pronounced it with the hard E sound, not the hard A sound…good one guyz, you got some of us tripped up for sure! Hope all is going swimminly, UR!

Maybe TOUPEE appeared before in a Sunday puzzle (for years, I did not have access to those, as I do the puzzle online, so I might have missed it when you saw it). I did not have TOUPEE on my Tough Jumble Word list that goes back over 10 years which makes me think I hadn’t seen it before, but it’s on there now. It’s a foreign-origin word that does not follow common English word patterns and delayed me for a good 45 seconds. It’s certainly fair game as a Jumble word.

I had lots of trouble with TOUPEE! I just knew there was a T missing for whatever I thought the word was! AND I thought the answer was TOP TO THOSE BELOW. Obviously wrong as I tried to work the letters around. Finally worked out the correct answer!! LL
