Cryptoquote Spoiler – 08/06/18

When you have spoken the word, it reigns over you.  When it is unspoken, you reign over it.”   —   Arabian Proverb

I think it means that the moment you speak your mind, especially something important, you’re obligated to it; but, until you speak, you still have options.

Remember when President Obama drew his “Red Line” about Syria using chemicals weapons, then nothing happened.

Apparently, the president didn’t understand that an ultimatum (threat) is an obligation. It’s just like your mortgage; once you make it, you have to pay it; or lese.

Right after that is when Vladimir knew he could barge his way into Crimea and get away with it.

That’s one way to look at things, lwc. I don’t think they’ve shown definitive proof that Assad ever gassed his own people. There has always been one *true* reason for this “civil war” in Syria, and that’s the creation of The Jewish State in Israel and the Levant.

I don’t think Obama had any intention to act on any red line in the sand, and he was pressured by Israel to posture as he did. He knew that the U.S. people would not back a military intervention into Syria, so a bluff was as far as he was willing to go.

You can TRY to draw a correlation with that and Putin claiming Crimea, but I think it’s completely apples and oranges. And, there was a lot going on behind the scenes with Ukraine, that our government and media don’t want us to know about, that led up to Putin’s actions. Things like this are not what our media portrays them to be.

I agree with your first impression, UR. Think before you speak; once it’s “out there,” people will remember (maybe; does a tweet ever go away?) and associate it with you. A variant of “He that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding”!

My grandfather asked me never to judge a man until I’d walked in his moccasins. But my mother taught me that silence was gold.
