(So are boring foods and bad teeth, Kate!  Just kidding.  Okay, the food isn’t all that bad.  The weather you grow up with . . . is the weather you grow up with.  The world is experiencing unprecedented heat waves this year.  Even places where you don’t expect extreme heat, like Canada, United Kingdom, Scandinavia, and Japan and the Korean peninsula, are losing people to heat stroke and other heat related issues.  So, the next time there’s a cold spell – during the winter months, mind you – don’t go saying:  Well, so much for Global Warming!  Because you just sound . . . stupid!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Semi-Tough) Jumble Spoiler – 07/27/18

Clue/Question:  The archer who scored a bull’s-eye to secure her team’s victory – – –

Answer:  AIMED TO PLEASE

(I’m sure someone is groaning somewhere.  But, I don’t think it’s all that stinky a pun.  And, I don’t think today’s answer was a gimme.  It took me more than a few looks to see it.  I kept wanting to make the third word SAMPLE.  I bet you can tell why, can’t you?!

None of today’s clue words are new.  However, all of the jumbles appear to be so.  It took me a few looks to see “public”.  The answer letter layout was marvelous.  I thought it hid the answer very well.  The clue/question wasn’t particularly leading, and I thought the dialog only hinted at the answer.

Nice cartoon of an archery range.  All the archer look very happy.  No hidden, or obvious, bonus clues.  A good Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
