Cryptoquote Spoiler – 07/24/18

(Too many of us don’t seem to take the time to notice such things, but k.d. speaks the truth.  The sky is a never ending movie.  The plot is generally very familiar, but it always plays out differently.  This is the first quote from k.d. lang, since I’ve been posting these spoilers.  She’s a brave and talented singer.  She was out there before it was fashionable, or even acceptable, to be out there.  Especially for the Country genre.  I’ve got to admire that.  Enjoy the song!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   yur

Jumble Spoiler – 07/24/18

Clue/Question:  After specializing in miniature sculptures, Willard Wigan made a – – –

Answer:  SMALL FORTUNE

(Ah!  Sometimes good things DO come in small packages!  This guy has hands that most surgeons would envy.  I’ve seen a piece on him on one of those news magazine shows, like CBS “Sunday Morning”, and he is amazing!  I definitely couldn’t do what he does.  And, now he has been immortalized – in Jumble form – with a great pun!

None of today’s clue words are new, yet all of their jumbles appear to be so.  I liked “rufti” because it’s a two syllable jumble for a one syllable word.  And, “moabob” is a three syllable jumble for a two syllable word.  I struggled a bit with “moabob”.  The answer letter layout was a smashing jumble!  It disguised the answer beautifully.

Great cartoon, too.  The buyer guy has check in hand.  The microscope is believable, seemingly looking at one of his works.  And, Will is holding up a needle that, presumably, holds another one of his sculptures.  I’m not sure if the drawing on the wall has any significance.  It appears to be a clock tower with a smiley face.  Does that register for anyone?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
