Clue/Question: Would the weather be clear for their balloon flight? It was – – –
Answer: UP IN THE AIR
(Pretty much a gimme, for a Friday. Friday’s are usually a little more challenging. But, this does bring up some topical weather related warnings. Tragically, there was that duck boat yesterday that capsized during a severe thunderstorm, near Branson, MO, killing 17 people, and hospitalizing others. A few in critical condition. And 10 tornadoes touched down in Illinois and Iowa, causing so much damage and power outages. Mother Nature is NOT to be trifled with. As beautiful as she is, she can be quite the bitch. So, try to be mindful as you attempt to enjoy these summer days. Keep an eye to the sky, and be wary, my friends.
Mr. Hoyt has graced us with two new clue words today! Yes, both “privy” and “rerun” are soon to join the ralis95 world famous clue word database! And, the jumble “rrnue” tripped me up, big time. After looking for a bit, I wrote down “unerr”, thinking that it could be a root to unerring. But, when I got to the final answer I saw that I had letters I didn’t need, and was missing others. Knowing I needed the E and the U brought me to the correct word. So, unintentionally, I backed into “rerun”. We’ve seen the jumble “fitann” sometime in the past. The answer letter layout was a nice 10-letter jumble, but like I said, getting the answer was pretty much a gimme.
Fine cartoon! Ominous clouds in the sky. The one guy checking the weather report on his laptop. And, the balloon and gondola on its side, as the burner heats the envelope up. All in all, a fine jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

I got PRIVY immediately and didn’t realize it was new but then went down the same rabbit hole you did, Unc, losing time on RERUN, trying to force UNERR. UN- distracted me from seeing the correct prefix. I stumbled into RERUN crunching letters in different patterns. Good find guys. I love all these new words lately. Keep ’em coming!
Well, PHOTON didn’t jump right out. I was stuck on PHOTON, INFANT, and RERUN for a while. And I didn’t have enough letters to solve the puzzle, so I couldn’t back into any of the clue words. There have been so many diabolical jumbled words!
Seems like we had quite the dry spell of new database words, and that has certainly turned around lately! LL
PHOTON is definitely a little PHUNKY, LL! — YUR
