Visual Description: Dealing with unsavory characters!
CEEEM = EMCEE, KEIHR = HIKER, SURBAD = ABSURD, SPUPHU = PUSHUP — Giving us: MEEHIRASRDUSUP
Clue/Question: He longed to be a bounty hunter and planned to – – –

Answer: PURSUE HIS DREAM
(I actually got the answer pretty quickly, but it took a couple of seconds for me to appreciate – or even get – the pun! In order for bounty hunters to arrest the law breakers, they have to catch them. And, very often they have to pursue them. “Oh, okay! I get it. Bad cop, bad cop!” Bounty hunters are a lot like cops in, some ways.
David L. Hoyt really is on fire with his new clue words! He gave us another one today, in “pushup”. No rest for ralis95! His world famous clue word database continues to grow, and grow!
I’m still NOT a fan of the “word” EMCEE. A “Master of Ceremonies” is also known as an MC, via initialism, so why make up a “word” such as EMCEE? With doctors do we write out EMDEE? With Military Police do we write out EMPEE? Does anyone drive an EMGEE? What genius decided to make a 5-letter “word” out of a 2-letter initialism? And then, what other geniuses decided that it should be accepted, and recorded, as an actual word? Can anyone come up with ANOTHER “word” such as EMCEE??? And please, don’t give me a rapper’s name!
Back to the Jumble. All of the jumbles appear to be new. They were all pretty good. I especially like “surbad”. It’s like the combination of someone’s name, and a funky urban title. The answer letter layout was 14-letter masterpiece! I’m sure that it kept plenty of you scratching your heads. And, speaking of scratching, Jimmy Kimmel has a funny joke about all of the Croatian soccer players’ names ending in IC – sounds like: itch! He said it had him reaching for the calamine lotion! I bet Kimmel would enjoy doing the Jumble!
Super funny cartoon! Gotcha Bounty Hunters! I wonder how much I could get for turning in either David, or Jeff? I could use the scratch! Has punning become an actual crime? In today’s PC environment it wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Not sure if the other WANTED character is supposed to be anyone well-known. Can you guys make out the bounty hunter’s tattoo? It looks like a cop dragging away a perpetrator! Great stuff, Jeff and David. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
