Clue/Question: The inventor of the saddle had the – – –

Answer: “RIDE“ IDEA
(It’s gotta beat bareback! I’m not sure which the horse prefers, but I know very little about the majestic beasts. I’ve ridden a large pony before, but never a horse. I’m sure that some will call this a stinky pun though.
We have yet another new clue word today, in “jigsaw”. The ralis95 clue word database is really getting a good workout lately! More and more additions to it. All of the jumbles appear to be new today also. The only one that gave me any trouble was “gjwias”. It’s kind of funny, because I was just looking up saws the other day, due to that carpenter Jumble. The answer letter layout was another fine jumble. But, the quotation marks, the cartoon’s dialog, and the leading nature of the clue/question made getting the answer pretty easy.
Fine period piece cartoon. Hard to tell exactly when and where this is supposed to be. Could be the Tatars, or some other group from the Steppes of Eurasia. Lot’s of horsemen in those regions. Maybe Jeff will tell us who they are. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
