Clue/Question: When he failed the driving portion of his driver’s test, he was in a – – –

Answer: NO PASSING ZONE
(Patience?! We ain’t got no patience!! We don’t need no stinkin’ patience!!! Doesn’t it kind of seem that way today? As a quintessential grumpy old man, I would delight in blaming the younger generation, for all the impatience that we see on the road every day. But, just as bias and hatred and intolerance, etc., are learned behavior, so too are the good things like discipline, manners, respect and patience. In these days of instant gratification and self-importance it seems that discipline, manners, respect and patience are being treated as quaint, and antiquated notions. And, it’s hardly just the kids. Far too many of us are setting a really horrible example, for our children, and for each other.
Because there is a fairly large shoulder on the road, should we be passing – on the right – a car that is making a left turn? Are the three seconds, or less – on average – really going to make that big a difference for you getting to your destination?
And, how about those impatient kamikazes, who speed down the two sets of double yellow lines connected by yellow slashes, leading up to a left turning lane? The law says you absolutely don’t cross a double yellow line, but way too many selfish drivers treat these road divisions like their own personal passing lanes. I’ve seen too many decent people get clobbered by these inconsiderate narcissists.
And last, but not least, are the folks who think that it’s perfectly okay to make a left hand turn – in the face of oncoming traffic – as soon as the signal changes! Death wish? Ignorance of the law? No, just extreme piggishness. They don’t care about anyone but themselves.
And, people wonder why there is so much road rage these days! I just gave you three of the scant – but growing list of – reasons that get my dander up, when I’m on the road. Seeing our police actually stopping and ticketing these deplorable pigs would go a long way towards restoring some sanity to the roads. Will I hold my breath waiting for this to happen? Yeah. Right.
Aren’t you glad you tuned in today??? The Jumble actually has another new clue word, in “snazzy”. Yes, ralis95 will have to update his world famous clue word database once again! We only have two new jumbles, as “gornp” and “tinket” have been used in the past. The answer letter layout was a jumble masterpiece! Nothing obvious about it. The final answer wasn’t terribly difficult, but this 13-letter jumble didn’t give anything away.
Great cartoon. The driving examiner looks well-frazzled. And, I like how they parked the car in a No Parking zone! It looks like Mom’s chauffeur days are going to continue for a while longer. Be well and do good, friends. Oh. And, don’t drive like an inconsiderate ass! Please? Thank you.) — YUR
