Visual Description: Red, White, and Blue-collar workers, baby!
HACRI = CHAIR, ROBMO = BROOM, GRAFLU = FRUGAL, DEELTS = ELDEST — Giving us: CHAOMFRUET
Clue/Question: When asked to help with his Independence Day cookout, his friends – – –
Answer: CAME “FOURTH“
(Such a low pun, for such an elevating day! But, a good stinky pun is unpretentious and unclouded. Which is what America strives to be! Or should, at least. We shouldn’t let our divisiveness define us. In the end, all the wedge issues are doing what the powers that be want us to do. Bicker and fight, instead of contribute and unite. America is at its best when working for a common goal. Great? Great again? Let’s just be better. Because, we can always do better. Right?
Can you believe that David L. Hoyt has given us another two new clue words today?!?! Both “broom” and “eldest” are not on my latest copy of the the ralis95, world famous, clue word database. I hope the big boss man checks in to see this. With the big holidays, he’s always busy entertaining folks at some celebratory fest, of one kind or another. Also, all four of the jumbles came up as new today. They were all great too, but “deelts” was the only one that slowed me down. The answer letter layout was a well thought out jumble as well. Nicely cryptic.
The cartoon does a great job of illustrating teamwork. Everybody cooperating. Everybody pitching in. The American way! Our diversity fuels our ferocity to excel. We CAN get there together, when we CHOOSE to work together. Happy birthday, America! Be well and do good.) — YUR

WOW!! Four new words to add to the database – and that’s just in the first 3 days of this week!! I was surprised at BROOM – since it’s such a simple word and would surely have been used long before this. Hoyt’s active mind strikes again and again. Happy 4th of July to you and all your vast army of loyal followers.
I knew we almost certainly needed a past-tense verb for the first four-letter word but could not find CAME (even though the letters appear in that order! though spaced-out) and wasn’t able to quickly unscramble FOURTH either. After a brief unfruitful hunt for either final answer word, I went back to the clue and recognized that the guys were doin’ the dance to try *not* to say FOURTH in the clue, and then I had it. Good puzzle! Love getting new words, three now in the past three days.
Burst on all! And as the man said, let’s work together.
Is chair new as well?
Thanks, boss! Happy 4th to you and the missus! — YUR
Nope, Smitty. Chair was there! — YUR
Eldest was today’s hard word for me. The discussion in the cartoon reminds me of an article I saw the other day. Evidently, Twitter has gone to the comedic side over that tweet from the guy calling for the Second Civil War, to start today. Somebody replied ‘Has anybody started a food list yet, for the event? I can bring tuna casserole to feed 36million.’. 😀 😀 😀
Two tough jumbled in a row although today’s was a tad easier.untold got me yesterday and I could not get final answer.eldest was tricky “four” me but final answer came right away.happy independence day all!!!
