Clue/Question: The new bowling alley was just completed, and the owner was anxious to – – –
Pre-Answer: Four Words (3-letters) (3-letters) (4-letters) (7-letters)

Answer: GET THE BALL ROLLING
(A traditional groaner. For about 10 seconds, I thought that the answer was going to be something tougher, because there was a great big, 17-letter answer letter layout. But, the Gs and the Ts gave me GET THE, and the Ls gave me BALL ROLLING soon after.
No new clue words today. However, five of the six jumbles came up as new. We’ve definitely seen “taanso” before. The only one though to give me pause was “amlerv”. I didn’t have to back into it, or even skip it, but it did make me think. Great jumble. Like I said above, the answer letter layout was an impressive seventeen letter jumble. And, it did not give anything away.
The cartoon looks like standard bowling fare. But, upon closer inspection, it looks like Jeff inserted “The Dude” – second from the left – AKA Jeffrey Lebowski, or the Little Lebowski, as opposed to the mega-rich Big Lebowski, from the movie “The Big Lowbowski”. That movie has three of my favorite actors: Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, and Steve Buscemi. Even the more secondary characters are played by splendid actors. It’s a great offbeat comedy, that really only has a few bowling scenes in it. As opposed to “Kingpin”, another very funny movie, which mainly takes place in bowling alleys. I saw “The Big Lewbowski” just a few months ago, on cable one night. But, it’s been quite a while since I’ve seen “Kingpin”. Anywho, great Sunday Jumble! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. Hey! How about that Justify winning the Triple Crown?!?! I think maybe he was sandbagging it a little bit in The Preakness Stakes, a few weeks ago. Maybe, he just wanted it to look like he was running out of gas, and wasn’t a distance horse. He sure surprised me, taking it from post to post. And, from the rail no less! And, Congrats to Mike Smith, for being the oldest jockey to ride the Triple Crown winner! Well, now I’ve seen 5 Triple Crown champions in my lifetime. 5 out of the 13, in the last 150 years is not bad. I think a few of our readers may have been around for 4, or maybe even 5 or 6 more, as there were numerous Triple Crown champions in the ’40s, and later ’30s. Who’s got me beat??? — YUR
