Memorial Day Jumble Spoiler – 05/28/18

(A very honorable pun.  All of today’s clue words are veterans of earlier Jumble campaigns, as are the jumbles “muytm” and “ronpev”.  The other two jumbles appear to be new recruits.  All of them were relative tenderfoots.

The answer letter layout was a monster of a jumble.  14 letters long, and nicely camouflaged.  

The cartoon shows our men and women soldiers, in their digies, about to sit down to some Memorial Day barbecue.  But, the cook has called for a moment of silence.  Must be 3:00 PM!  It is one fine cartoon.  I hope everybody has stopped to remember that today is much more than a day off of work, or school, and that around 1.1 million men and women have given their lives in defense of our country.  It is most definitely a big deal.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
