Clue/Question: He blamed another sea lion, but the sea lion said it was the – – –

Answer: “OTTER“ GUY
(Ooh! A real stinky pun. Fish breath stinky! All of today’s clue words are old favorites. And, two of the jumbles, “dyidg” and “liput” are also old favorite jumbles. The other two appear to be new. They all came to me right away.
The answer letter layout was an amusing jumble. It was both cryptic and unobvious. In my opinion, today’s Jumble was a purely visual gag.
The cartoon was THE main event! They had to create a scene where we’d buy seeing sea lions and otters together, so Jeff chose the area outside of Seattle, Washington. The Space Needle always plays a prominent role in the Seattle skyline, as does Mount Rainier, and it made for a wonderful backdrop. Ah, the Pacific Northwest! I’ve never been to Seattle, but it’s on my short list of places to visit. Cute otter, breaking open some kind of mollusk on his belly and rock. And a nice pair of sea lions, on the shell-littered shore. Definitely not the toughest of Friday Jumbles, but satisfying none-the-less. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
