Answer: “DUEL–Y“ NOTED
(One of the best puns – and great Jumbles – in quite a while! I’m sure there are some out there groaning, but they’re probably people who don’t really appreciate the Jumble anyway. So, the heck with ’em!
All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends. Two of the jumbles came up as new, but we’ve definitely seen both “doydl” and “leyilk” before. The answer letter layout made for another beautiful jumble, that did a fine job of keeping the answer under wraps.
The cartoon is a great period piece, with good likenesses of both participants of the infamous duel. Aaron Burr is actually a distant relative of mine, on my mother’s side. Hamilton’s death made him a martyr, and it gave people the impression that Burr was the bad guy. But, a lot of American history – and history in general – is slanted B.S., but it’s my favorite subject regardless. Dig the link below! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
