Clue/Question: In the late ’70s, Paul David Hewson started going by Bono and – – –
Pre-Answer: Five Words (4-letters) (1-letter) (4-letters) FOR (7-letters)
Answer: MADE A NAME FOR HIMSELF
(Ooh. A bit of a sneaky one! I was initially thinking the answer was going to be something specific to U2, like one of their early, better known, song titles. It’s funny seeing them so young! They’re all a few years younger than yer Uncle, but in his mind’s eye HE is younger than them! Just semi-delusional.
We have yet another new clue word today, in “inflow”! The big boss-man, ralis95, will have to – once again – update his world famous clue word database. The other five clue words were old friends. Five of the six jumbles appear to be new, with “mursem” having definitely been used before. I must have been in the groove this morning, because they all came to me, right away. The answer letter layout was a well thought out jumble. Not obvious, in any way.
I guess I have to face facts, and admit that a scene from the late ’70s makes for a great period piece! A nice likeness of the Edge’s guitar. I also like the cap in his other hand. And, Adam with his bass, and Larry with his sticks. I also like the old-style corded microphone on the floor. Today they’re all cordless. A nice walk down memory lane. And, a fine offering by the guys. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Sunday Bloody Mullet (sorry, couldn’t help it).
Corded mikes are quaint. I remember seeing pics of Roger Daltrey on stage with a corded mike that had the cord folded over and taped twice. Since he liked to twirl it around by the cord, the tape helped protect the connector. But corded mikes can cause somebody to be electrocuted. An acquaintance knew a roadie who said his first lesson was to grab a mike that wasn’t grounded right. He got a shock, which got the lesson through about not wiring correctly.
OUCH! I was “fixing” my dryer this weekend, when I got a little jolt. I was like: Oh, yeah. Unplug the darn thing first! — YUR 🙂
