“The advantage of a bad memory is that one enjoys several times the same good things for the first time.” — Nietzsche
(I used to try to put that positive spin on people with Alzheimer’s. But, with them there’s a lot of frustration and fear. And, nobody enjoys those things. Be well and do good, friends!
Hey, Happy Earth Day! Do something good today, like plant a tree or bush, or go around picking up litter, and put it in its place. Hopefully, something like a recycling bin. It’s a BIG day for birthdays today! Too many to mention them all, so I’ll give you my personal favorites. The Incomparable Jack Nicholson is 81, the Marvelous Mel Carter is 79, the Genius John Waters is 72, Rock singers Peter Frampton and Paul Carrack are 68 and 67, respectively. And, actor Joe Bottoms is 64. A slew of others under 60, so Happy Birthday to all the rest. Or, LAL HET SERT as Jeff Knurek would say!) — YUR

The Philly Inquirer printed the third word “yf”. It threw me a little, because, of course the word is “of”, but it didn’t take me long to realize the “f” had to be an error.
Only with the word “of”? They didn’t mess up on “first”? I guess any newspaper is capable of making mistakes. Especially these days! Thanks for the report, Joy. It’s always a pleasure. — YUR
First was “JOAMP”. The Sunday Cryptogram is sometimes hard to find. Usually it’s with the crossword, but with tiny printing and no room to write the real words…..and they don’t even print the jumble on Sundays. Must be a different editor on Sundays.
A lot of newspapers short change their readers on Sundays. It’s a damn shame. You always have the option to call them and complain. Maybe even threaten to cancel your subscription. — YUR
