“We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” — Native American Proverb
(Truer words were never spoken! But, I fear some Christians resent this truism, as it sort of contradicts a well known Bible passage. Let’s put our prejudices away, and really hear the actuality. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Unc, you didn’t cite which Bible passage !
There’re so many.
Matthew 5:5, FWIW. — YUR
I’m slightly embarrassed … I didn’t spot PROVERB right off, and I first wrote FOLLOW instead of BORROW, so I took extra time. But, it’s a beautiful sentiment for Earth Day!
I was able to stay away from the author most of the way, but I also was thinking FOLLOW before I got to BORROW, Roy. — YUR
That proverb is so true. Yesterday’s cryptoquote is from Ghandhi – EARTH PROVIDES ENOUGH TO SATISFY EVERY MAN’S NEED, BUT NOT EVERY MAN’S GREED. Ghandi was so wise and I wish our world leaders were like him. It would be a much kinder and better world than what it is.
I certainly cannot argue with that, Janet! Thanks for commenting! — YUR 🙂
Unfortunately, it’s only the venal and ruthless who have the incentive to rule the world. The kind and thoughtful people aren’t interested.
