Visual Description: Pie-chart progress.
NUYNS = SUNNY, URRMO = RUMOR, BMMEEL = EMBLEM, LUSODH = SHOULD — Giving us: UNNRORMBESUD
Clue/Question: Hula-Hoop sales were reported in – – –
Answer: ROUND NUMBERS
(Maybe I should’ve said Pi-chart? For simplicity’s sake, they always round that to 3.14, but that’s because it seemingly goes on forever. All of today’s clue words were tried and true, yet all of the jumbles are brand-spanking new! Old or new, I saw them all instantly today.
The answer letter layout was a dandy of a jumble, but I was able to see the answer instantaneously. I think we may have had too many visual clues, to make this one at all challenging. But, sometimes that’s just me, and a few of you will say that it took you a few looks. How about it? did most of you breeze through this, like me?
The cartoon was a nice little conference room scene. I have to fess up, that I am undoubtedly THE worst hula-hooper in the history of the sport/game! I move my hips, but they never seems to make enough contact with the hoop, and the hoop ends up on the ground with the first rotation! It’s tragic, because it has always looked like so much fun, as well as being great exercise. The strange thing is, I’m not one of those uncoordinated boobs. I do have some physical skills. Oh, well. At least I’m pretty good at the Jumble and the Cryptoquote. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Yep, you are correct, sir! (Who always said that?) Found this quite easy, didn’t even have to write any words out. That’s ok, the boys will kill us the next few days, eh? Have a good one Unc.
Dear Unc – pi goes on forever actually, not seemingly.
Not being able to read the paper today and work the puzzle, I looked at my cell phone and found the picture and just the four-letter solution, not even how many words were involved in the answer. Just looking at the picture I came up with answer,”round numbers”. It was hardly a challenge. Perhaps if I look at the newspaper now I’ll see a different picture and it might not be so obvious but it was disappointing.
Yeah. I thought so, Mark. A friend of mine, and fellow blogger, said it’s been mapped out to the 64,000+ decimal place, I’m assuming by computer. When he told me that I questioned him: What’s the point? Doesn’t it go on forever? But, I guess *some* Math geeks have nothing better to do! — YUR 🙂
Well, Barb. I would have to say, Johnny’s trusted sidekick, Ed McMahon! God, I miss those days! Colbert, Kimmel and Fallon can’t hold a candle to that show. At least bring back Letterman! — YUR
Yes, I also thought David & Jeff let us catch our breaths with what most would agree was an easier one. Have Mercy and Thank You. Of course tomorrow is Sunday puzzle time, so the reprieve may be brief.
Solve on all.
Interesting digression about pi … the Jumble guys missed “Pi Day” (March 14) by 10 days! But yes, today’s puzzle was a piece of pie .. er, cake.
For me, Emblem was the problem word. But I got the answer with only the UNNRO clue letters.
