Clue/Question: After all the passengers left, the ocean liner was the – – –
Answer: “CREW‘S“ SHIP
(Excellent pun! It had a kind of freshness to it. It didn’t feel hackneyed, to me. It was light and breezy, like a sunny afternoon on the high seas.
None of the clue words are new arrivals, but three of the jumbles appear to be new. David has definitely used “crupes” before. The answer letter layout was beautifully jumbled. Very well thought out.
Loads to like about Jeff’s cartoon. From the people playing shuffleboard, to the girl sunning herself in a lounge chair, with a cocktail at her side. I liked the ship’s officer relaxing in the hot-tub, with a refreshing cocktail, and a bartender in the background. And, a couple of other crew-mates, on the upper deck, enjoying themselves. He even included the classic sinking sailboat on the horizon. I wonder which came first, curling or shuffleboard? Whenever I have to explain to people what curling is like, I always say that it is similar to shuffleboard, but played on ice, with a fancy smooth rock and some funny brooms. I hope you all enjoyed today’s Jumble as much as I did. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
