Clue/Question:  The background check on the cartoonist showed that he had a – – – 

Answer:  SKETCHY PAST

(An excellent pun!  My first inkling was CHECKERED PAST, but there was only one C and E, and no R or D, and not enough boxes for that to be the first word.  So, I immediately jumped ship to SKETCHY.

None of the clue words were new, but I don’t think any of them have been used recently.  “Access” spells out in alphabetical order.  All of today’s jumbles are coming up new.  The answer letter layout was a super jumble.  Very cryptic.

The cartoon is a little ominous!  Kind of Big Brother-ish.  But, it is comical.  I’d give Bill a chance.  Hopefully, Jeff and David will give him a shot at being a guest Jumbler!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
