Visual Description: The necessary alternative.
GOYSG = SOGGY, GODED = DODGE, PCRANE = PRANCE, GUTENG = NUGGET — Giving us: SOODPANGT
Clue/Question: The installation of the city’s new traffic light was – – –
Answer: STOP–AND–GO
(The occasional literal/figurative pun can be a fun little diversion! All of today’s clue words are tried and true, yet all of the jumbles are shiny and new. I hesitated just a might with “prance”, because the jumble was so close to the actual word. And, even with the double consonant, I whiffed on “nugget” for a couple of seconds. I thought David’s answer letter layout was brilliant. I don’t think it gave anything away. Jeff’s cartoon set the tone nicely, to boot. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Me too, UR! I didn’t just PRANCE right over the NUGGET. Nice, deceptive scrambling, and a fairly literal solution. How do they keep coming up with these?
I think that they occasionally take suggestions, Roy. If you have any ideas for one you could always write Hoyt at: dlhoyt@hoytinteractivemedia.com

Another of those double letter words that stumped me. YIKES!! So this puzzle took much longer than breakfast! But what a way to start the day. Love the picture of the traffic policeman. Some of them can get really fancy!!! LL
