Answer:  TOOK THE “STARES“

(Of course she did.  So many people get into the performing arts to satisfy their need for attention.  They want to feel loved.  A lot of them are actually pretty insecure, so they have a strong desire for affirmation.  And, once they achieve a certain level of fame, many of them develop an attitude of entitlement.  This is where a lot of them then get in to trouble.  I’m sure you’ve been seeing a lot of these *trouble* stories on the news lately.

Stairs to Stares!  Good pun.  None of the clue words came up as new, and only two of the jumbles came up as new.  We’ve seen “suheo” and “teptie” before.  The answer letter layout was outstanding!  I found nothing obvious there, at all.  It took me a few looks before I came up with the answer/pun.  The cartoon does a great job of showing the gawkers and the staircase!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
