Visual Description: At the wet pets vet.
GALEE = EAGLE, RIHWL = WHIRL, GENCAY = AGENCY, DAYLLG = GLADLY — Giving us: AEWIRANGAD
Clue/Question: The vet that specialized in treating waterfowl had a – – –
Answer: “WADING“ ROOM Whoops! This is what happens when yer uncle jumps to conclusions! I didn’t even refer to the answer letters. Not even while discussing the answer letter layout, where it should have hit me! The correct second word to the answer – as many of you have pointed out to me – is: AREA
(A beautiful, stinky pun! Hoyt should be very proud of himself. All of today’s clue words are old favorite. Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but we have seen “galee” before. I loved the answer letter layout, as it was a commendably cryptic jumble. Jeff’s cartoon was very clever with the waterfowl in the kiddie pool. Good likeness of Walt Disney, waiting with what looks to be a young Donald Duck. I also liked the the egret with the bum leg. The magazine with the mallards on the cover was also a nice touch. A very fun Monday Jumble. Be well, friends. And, always strive to do good.) — YUR

Wading area, not room. I thought it was room as well, but the letters are for area.
Has to be wading area, not wading room!

WADING ROOM???? There are no O’s in the clue words! I must admit, though that I had problems with the correct answer” I got AREA right off and got fixed on the WING portion of the remaining letters to the point that I completely missed WADING. So much for our abilities, eh?
Wading AREA not ROOM
DOH!
DOH! I’m getting old, I tell ya! — YUR
DOH! You’re absolutely correct, Anthony! — YUR
DOH! I must be getting too big for my own britches! I did not even pay attention to the answer letters, and went with my own ASSUMPTION! Looks like I just ended up making an ASS out of myself! — YUR
Can’t be wading room there are no o’s Or m
Wading room out of alwirangad there are no o’s or m
Not sure how you get room with no o’s. SMH
Add me to AREA. Sorry I did this late & everyone else beat me to it. Still love ya Unc!
You should be most satisfied, UR, that so many people are reading your blog! And paying such close attention that they WEIGHED IN on the WADING AREA!
Excellent puzzle, a real head-scratcher for me. I wasn’t seeing WADING or AREA. I got sidetracked on two possible four-letter words (with the right letters available) in the final answer that could have fit the clue–WING and WARD. As I thought about it, I realized the problem with a second word like WING or WARD is that it used too few vowels, leaving too many vowels (four, with two or three A’s) for the first word. I decided the second word needed two or more vowels with a good chance for two or more A’s. At that point I quickly found AREA, and then quickly found WADING.
Well done guys! Rock on all.
Where are the it’s in the jumble
There were no “o’s” for room! Check that out. Wading room made sense but no “o’s”!!!
The answer was
“Wading area” not room.
WADING AREA!! Not ROOM.
ROOM makes no sense when there are no O’s or M’s to give us the answer. After putting in “WADING” you’re left with EAAR
I too found “area” getting lost trying to fit in “gander.”
There’s no o’s in the words so how can the answer be wading room
I couldn’t have gotten this many comments if I’d planned it, Roy! — YUR
Because, this proves I’m only human, Barb??? — YUR
Wow, David! I just saw the kiddie pool with the birds (waterfowl) in it, and went straight to WADING. I leapt to ROOM by jumping to a conclusion, without even looking at the answer letters! — YUR
Ever the contrarian – Wading Area is lame, Wading Room is the best pun.
Merk Hein is my new best friend! LOL! — YUR
We love you human Unc!!! Loved this jumble! Since my head went in a direction many times with letters I didn’t have, I figured I’d have to fly a white flag on t his one. But I left the paper open on the table, and thought about it as I doodled around. Went back later and found AREA and unjumbled the remaining words. Grand puzzle guyz, grand! LL
Thanks, LL! You’re the best! — YUR
