Clue/Question: He said he was going to win the poker tournament, but his wife wasn’t – – –

Answer: BETTING ON IT
(This makes Kathy the better half, to Jeff’s bettor half! I’m sure we’ve had a variation, or two . . . or three on this answer before. But, that just makes it tried and true! All of the jumbles came up as new today. And, all the clue words are old favorites. “Pottie” looks like a variant of potty, to me. Sorta the British version . . . but no. I guess “tiptoe” is a compound word that I don’t have any problem with, but they’re still kinda silly, in my book. The answer letter layout wasn’t a big giveaway. It was a good jumble too. The cartoon’s dialog, and the clue/question set the whole thing up nicely. I can’t make out Kathy’s sweatshirt, but Jeff is wearing his old reliable WILCO shirt under a hoodie. The car key that he’s holding is a nice touch. Oh, and cute pup! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
