(I don’t know whether to blame NAFTA, or other economic trade agreements, or maybe just the prevailing Western influence on the rest of the world, but the U.S. is hardly the only car-nation anymore. It seems that just about every country is now overrun with the pollutant spewing – or, at least CO2 spewing – conveyances. I can still recall a time when suburban families got along fine with just one car. There are three cars in my driveway presently. I think the U.S. did start the car craze, but it’s now a world wide phenomena/problem.
There were no new clue words, for this first day of the New Year. However, we do have three new jumbles. We have definitely seen “jeyno” sometime in the past. Once again, my personal bias against gambling, resulted in my having to back into “casino” today. It’s strange, because I had just been thinking about how personal biases can cloud your judgment the other day. I guess yer uncle is only human, friends. The answer letter layout made for a fine jumble. I saw nothing obvious about it. The pickup truck, with the king-cab, says it was proudly “Made In The U.S.A.”. I wonder if that’s Jeff driving the Jumble-bug??? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. Congratulations to my Buffalo Bills, for making the playoffs for the first time in 18 years!!! This ends the longest post-season drought of all time, for any team in the four major U.S. sports! Now, it’s on to Jacksonville, to best the Jaguars, and one of Buffalo’s former head coaches! You can do it, guys! Woohoo!!! — YUR
