Visual Description: A sultry symphonist.
DAYNC = CANDY, SILPO = SPOIL, DLUDYC = CUDDLY, LEEFIB = BELIEF — Giving us: CNDSOIDDLEEF
Clue/Question: The symphony’s backup violinist didn’t like playing – – –
Answer: SECOND FIDDLE
(Ahh! A literal/figurative pun! Very nice. Hey, guess what, kids??? We don’t have just one new clue word today, but we have two! Yes, both “candy” and “cuddly” are not currently on the ralis95 clue word database. So, the big boss man has a little work to do! I half expected “cuddly” to be new. But, “candy”??? That one surprised me. All of the jumbles came up as new! And, the answer letter layout was a nifty jumble as well. Great job, Mr. Hoyt! The cartoon is very entertaining! It looks like Jeff inserted himself, as a clarinetist. Great Jumble.
Yesterday’s Jumble, “ALL-TURN-ATIVE”, resulted in the site receiving over 4300 queries! Nearly twice as many for an average day. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Hugs all around. I wondered about CUDDLY but am surprised to hear that we haven’t gotten any CANDY before.
Well yesterday’s jumble was terrible hard (for me anyway), never did solve it. Then today’s was quite easy both clues and solution. But I guess that’s what keeps us coming back, eh?
So much detail in the cartoon. Wish it was bigger. I’m going to have to find an online version with the full size cartoon. That second fiddle has quite the attiude! SPOIL can be trying. I always go for POLIS first. LL
Yes, today’s was a lot easier for me than the previous days. For a moment, I wondered if David Hoyt had felt sorry for us. 🙂
I was first-chair clarinet for several years in school. I still occasionally warm up the reed and play a few tunes.
CANDY was a real surprise. Just goes to show how astute Hoyt really is in picking words.
Jeff, how neat!!!! LL
Ralis!! Greetings. LindaLee
