“Smile in the mirror. Do that every morning and you’ll start to see a big difference in your life.” — Yoko Ono
(Sounds like sound advice to me. Why shouldn’t your first smile of the day come from yourself?! Then, hopefully, it will become contagious, and you’ll smile at others. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Did anyone else get a sense that the press and some Beatles fans cast a negative pawl over Yoko ? It sounded as if the people were blaming her when the guys began breaking up. It seemed to me that the guys were all ready to go into separate things, anyway, and Yoko became John’s interest.
I think Yoko was actually an accomplished artist on her own, which is probably what attracted John to her.
What does anyone else think about the effect of their relationship ?
I’m not sure if the guys were – consciously – ready to go into separate things, but I think Yoko served as a kind of catalyst for them to do so. John and Paul were having some “artistic differences”, and I’m sure that Yoko encouraged John to branch out in a more eclectic direction. I don’t think the others hated/blamed Yoko though. THAT was probably more media hype than reality. But, I was just a mere child of 13 in 1970, so all I know is what I’ve read off and on over the years.

I suspect that your interpretation is probably more correct. The four of them did seem to have creative differences and Yoko just happened to come along at a time when John needed to move on.
I don’t know how religious John was, but the preachers say if you need something, God will send it. I guess John got Yoko.
