“Respect for another man’s opinion is worthy. It is the realization that any opinion is valuable, for it is the sign of a rational being.” – – – Sargent Shriver
( . . . however ill-informed that being may be. C’mon, Bob! I’m as liberal as the next guy – probably moreso – but plenty of opinions are spouted by the most irrational beings ever. But, everyone is entitled to theirs . . . I suppose. LOL! Surprisingly, this appears to be our first R. Sargent Shriver quote. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
This strikes me as a shaky proposition, UR. An opinion can equally be a sign of an *irrational* being, and many opinions lack factual support. Don’t bother me with facts. In matters of personal taste, however, anything goes. If personal preference is what he’s talking about, then I’ll agree.
There are opinions one should never entertain. And there is a right and a wrong.
I completely disagree with that, Micheline. A free society NEEDS to entertain ALL opinions. I abhor absolutes, and ALL forms of intolerance. — YUR
