Visual Description: A sylvan salvage.
OHOBT = BOOTH, UNDOW = WOUND, SFLSIO = FOSSIL, TOXVER = VORTEX — Giving us: OOTHWUDFOSOTE
Clue/Question: The rescue team reached him in the forest, but he wasn’t – – –
Answer: OUT OF THE WOODS
(. . . yet! One of those literal/figurative puns. Not so stinky. There are no new clue words today, but three of the jumbles came up as new. We’ve definitely had “undow” before. It took me a minute to get “vortex”. I wanted to make it EX-something! Super long answer letter layout, made for a nice jumble too. Fantastic woodsy cartoon, with a great chopper and rescue team. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Great pun! Before I had unscrambled the words, I looked at the cartoon, the helicopter, and thought it had to be NOT UP TO THE … But OUT OF THE WOODS is even better.
Hey! I have so many thoughts when playing with the Jumble. Like – I wonder how the rescue team gets back into the helicopter…Or, did they find him on foot and then called in the copter?? Which of course would only apply to a real time rescue, but the thoughts invoked by the cartoon all the same. Or thoughts about the guys banter when they are coming up with all of their cleverness. And you too Unc…taking the time to give us this wonderful blog.
AND, how efficient was BOOTH — all but one letter used in the answer. I LOVE that. I don’t believe I’ve witnessed it, but I look so forward to the day ALL of the letters of a clue word are used!
Take care all!!!! LindaLee
That *would* be excellent, LL, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it, either. Also, it would make a *long* secret word … PIQUED could fit into SESQUIPEDALIAN, and they would go together!
I see my missing WOULD Roy!!! I do proofread, but sometimes you’d never know it! I had to look up your BIG word. I thought it probably had something to do with a bug with lots of legs!! NOT! Very interesting. LL
