Clue/Question: The baseball player loved his treadmill, and all the – – –
Answer: HOME RUNS
(There you go! Exercising from the comfort of his own abode. With the wife, kid, sleeping pup, and little plaything at his feet. Fine cartoon. I saw no new clue words today, but three new jumbles. We’ve definitely seen “pomoh” before. I was able to get them all without any struggle. The answer letter layout was another nifty jumble. Nothing obvious about it. Those surprising Spankmes could make some noise in the post season. On paper, they were supposed to be a year, or so, from making the playoffs, but Joe Girardi has them playing like world beaters. Plenty of young home run hitters. Their pitching is still largely hit or miss, but when they’re on they’re good enough. I guess we’ll see soon enough. I’ll be pulling for the Twins to pull an upset. If they don’t, then I’ll be pulling for the Tribe! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Forgot to mention, I got the answer immediately and then started working on the puzzle but since my spelling is terrible, I had a difficult time with oomph and I knew I had to have two o’s. I had to Google the spelling!
Spankmes??? Indians — not so much! 😦 LL
As a Mets fan, who has endured decades of abuse from Yankee fans, I have come up with my own slurs, to counter ones like “Mutts”. I call them the Wankees, or the Spankmes . . . because I can! LOL! — YUR
Oh, I had no idea what that was. I thought I was supposed to unjumble the word!!! What a hoot! LL
