“Marriage is a great institution, but I’m not ready for an institution.” — Mae West
(I always think of Mae West and W.C. Fields together, but I think they only did the one movie. They seemed to have a similar sense of humor. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
I wish I had W C Fields’ wry sense of humor. I try, but can’t quite pull it off with his smoothness. I even tried once in this blog, but totally miss the point.
I loved watching Mae West movies while growing up. She was a hot number to us adolescents, but she didn’t seem to handle old age well. Rather than grow into it gracefully, she seemed to fight it at every step.
I don’t know; maybe I’ll fight it, too.
I miss many of those old movies. None of them come on TV anymore.
