(Both Hip and Happenin’! Definitely something that Henri Arnold, Bob Lee, and later Michael Argirion, would very likely not have thought of! All of today’s clue words were old favorites. Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “clorsl” definitely having been used before. The answer letter layout was nicely cryptic. Nothing obvious there. And, a clever cartoon, featuring a clueless male in the background. You know, I am offended by all these depictions of my fellow brethren as hopeless oafs! This is an outrage! This shall not stand, I say! I say we should write all our mayors and governors, and senators and congress people, to have these highly offensive, stereotypical depictions of hapless and helpless men removed, from all over the country. Take them down, I say, and put them in cartoon museums, if you must! But, get them out of the public view! And, if you disagree with me, well then, clearly you are a sexist! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Cute, Unc. U keep tryin’, u might win one of us women over. (Not) Good to have you back, today was easy at least. Agree w/Lindalee, they have been tougher of late. Hope u had a nice relaxing time away from all of us but I missed you.
Not sure what getting at in your first part, but I appreciate the second part, Barb! — YUR
I hear ya Barb! I do agree at some level with our Unc, it is like the ads tend to depict men as unneeded, a bother..I am woman, let me roar is what I hear—at times! Unc, your semi-dissertation was a hoot!
Well, I am a bit embarrassed to say that I had to look up the names you listed. So, I’ve now learned about our jumble forefathers.
I did have a bit of a problem with PUPIL–uplip, lipup, pilup…geesh. SPIN CYCLES–loved it!! LindaLee
